Hello Everyone,

Situation now:

VCDSW001 (Server 2008) is the Solarwinds Application server including NPM NCM NTA & IPAM.

VCDSW002 (Server 2008) is the Additional Polling Engine.

VCDSW003 (Server 2012) is the NTA Fileserver

VCDSQ002 (Server 2012) is the SQL Server 2012 with the Solarwinds Database

VCDWS001 (Server 2012) is the Webserver

NPM 11.0 NCM 7.3.1 NTA 4.0 IPAM 4.1.0

Desired situation:

VCDSW001 is removed

VCDSW002 Nothing changed

VCDSW003 Nothing changed

VCDSQ002 Nothing changed

VCDSW004 (Server 2012) Solarwinds Application Server including NPM & IPAM

VCDSW005 (Server 2012) Solarwinds Application Server including NCM & NTA

Long story short: I want to replace my VCDSW001 application server by 2 new servers, which have the modules seperated on two servers.

The plan i've got is the following:

1. Stop Orion services on serer “VCDSW001”.

Stop Orion services on serer “VCDSW002”.

2. Back-up the Solarwinds Database on “VCDSQ002”.

3. Solarwinds License reset, by using the License Manager

4. “VCDSW004” gets the following Solarwinds modules installed: NPM, NTA & NCM Integration Module.

5. “VCDSW005” gets the following Solarwinds modules installed: NCM & IPAM.

6. Use the Orion Service Manager on “VCDSW001” to level with the SQL database regarding the new “VCDSW004” & “VCDSW005” servers.

7. copy Custom reports of server “VCDSW001” to “VCDSW004”.

8. Upgrade Report schemas on “VCDSW004”.

9. Export the Orion NCM Integration Engine certificate.

Import the Orion NCM Integration Engine certificate.

10. Migrate Solarwinds Licenses from “VCDSW001” to “VCDSW004” by using “License Manager”.

11. Remove the software Solarwinds Orion NPM, NCM, IPAM & NTA from “VCDSW001” server.

12. Start Solarwinds services if they haven't already.

I made this plan up out of the Admin guides. But I have the feeling i'm missing some things.

For example:

Will all modules still be integrated into the same Orion web console?

Will this plan make sure everything is migrated to the 2 new servers?

If i shut down VCDSW001 afterwards, will it look like the same as before executing my plan?

I hope you can help me out here.

Thanks in Advance!
