Hi,
This has always been an annoyance (its the small things..) within the Advanced Alert. For the trigger condition you can use the Do not trigger this action until condition exists for more than X seconds|minutes|hours.
As different areas of Orion have different polling frequencies it is always a problem to know what value to put in here to deal with continous issues, rather than spikes.
For example, interface % utilisation over 90%, Do not trigger... 60 seconds. This is not going to suppress for very long because this data will not get updated for up to 8 more minutes because the polling frequency for this data collection is 9 minutes by default.
What this could really do with being based on is until the condition exists for X number of Polls. The Alerting engine would cross reference the polling frequency with the monitored object; Node, Interface, SAM monitor, IP SLA etc. and suppress in a more appropriate way.
thanks
Mark
